Swimmers share stories at Moth StorySLAM
One of the wonderful things a graduate can do once they finish our program is use their voice to share their story and encourage others to learn to swim. We are very proud of graduate, instructor, and board chair Necolle Banks for taking to the stage tonight to share her swim story at The Moth StorySLAM!
Necolle Banks had the audience’s attention when she shared her journey from fearful of the water to swim instructor, lifeguard, coach, and Central ALTS board chair!
Necolle was joined by graduates Rochelle Hinkle and Latoya Bradley who each shared stories of their own at tonight’s event. Rochelle shared what it’s like to drive a TARC bus on Derby Day and Latoya schooled the house on house on the right way to order a cup of coffee!
Rochelle Hinkle spent many years not knowing how to swim until she came to Central ALTS. Now she’s a swim instructor who volunteers to teach new swimmers every week. She brought the house down with stories from her days as a TARC bus driver.
Rochelle, Necolle, and LaToya Bradley showed their support for Central ALTS by coming out on a rainy night to entertain a crowd of more than 100 people.
Great work honing those storytelling skills, ladies!!! Thanks for continuing to get the word out about Central Adult Learn-to-Swim and the power of changing lives through swimming.
